Hello.
The function declaration in the LUA functions and variables thread is already an example, as it specifies all parameters and its return.

The description is clear enough. And if you're in doubt, just run the function and see for yourself what it does exactly.
There are several scripts on forums that use these functions, so you can use forum's search tool to find these scripts and have them as a practical example.
I understand that you're not an experienced programmer and I don't even expect that from users here, but unfortunately, I can't do users's job. The functions you are failing to use are very simple and do not require LUA expertise. But some scripts may require a basic knowledge of LUA. If a user needs a script, he is responsible for creating that script himself. Of course, he can pay or ask for help for free, but that doesn't force anyone to make the script.
I'm glad you understand this as a challenge to learn, that's a great start. And this probably will make you able to develop these scripts, or at least, when you ask for help, it will show that you really tried. Unlike other people who don't even try.
You can use windowcount(optional string name) to check for a open container.
windowcount(optional string name) [number]: Represent the amount of defined windows that are open.
In fact, if I change "Cavebot->Direction" then it could cause a lot more problems. Because when selecting a direction option, the person knows that direction is selected.
Note that you can use HUDs->Show waypoints to display on game-client where the waypoints are, making it easy to create or detect errors.
I am always around if you need any help.
